Rainmaking.cloud is a blog which aims at explaining how to design and build solutions using AWS using detailed diagrams, documentation and bootstraps.
The use cases explained on this blog are ones which outlines the extraordinary capabilities of AWS's cloud offerings. These capabilities open the road to innovation through faster time to market. This blog focuses on simple yet very powerful use cases which can then be combined into complete and more complex solutions. This has the distinct advantage of producing quick reading articles and laser focused bootstraps.
Use case articles are built around non-functional requirements and business objectives. The intent is to provide readers with complete 360° example which covers common requirements for a specific use case. For example: « Deploying a cost effective and load-balanced serverless web server using AWS Fargate ».
For readers, it's free. However the usage cost induced by each use case will be explained based on assumptions. This process is based on the following cost dimensions which can then be used to do estimations:
  • Storage
  • Compute
  • Networking
The estimations are at best high level estimations which may greatly vary.
Code pieces are usually written in NodeJS and the Infrastructure as Code uses most of the time the AWS Cloud Development Kit.
Article subjects are chosen based on professional experiences and suggestions from readers. If you ever wish a subject to be written about please drop me a line.
